[Comtec Announce] Maintenance window 11th November 2012
Posted by Michael Cullen on 05 November 2012 05:58 PM

Please be advised of the following maintenance window scheduled on our network:

Date: Sunday, 11th November 2012

Start time: 15:00 UTC

End time: 19:00 UTC

Purpose

Firewall and IDS maintenance at our Comtec House (LSREI01) data centre.

Impact

The project plan for this work calls for no customer-visible outage due to the redundant nature of these devices. However we are also aware of a defect in the current software version that means there is a likelihood of a few minutes loss of service during this window for hosted customers at Comtec House.

Comtec NOC is tracking this issue under ticket [#NGP-595-16849].

Regards,

David Croft

[Comtec Announce] [IP Voice Services] Planned Engineering Work 10/11/2012
Posted by Michael Cullen on 05 November 2012 05:55 PM

Please be advised of the following planned engineering works on the IP Voice Services platform:

Date: 21:00 to 21:30 on Saturday, 10/11/2012

Purpose

The Engineering Team will be changing the DNS resolved IP Addresses for linksys.yourservices.co.uk and soundpoint.yourservices.co.uk on 10/11/2012 between 21:00 and 21:30. These will be changing to:

soundpoint.yourservices.co.uk - 85.119.59.22

linksys.yourservices.co.uk - 85.119.62.8

Impact

Expected impact is LOW.

Please ensure any restrictions you have in place relating to these URL's are updated to reflect the above. These are the URL's used by Linksys and Soundpoint IP phones for the automatic provisioning process so failure to enable access to these will prevent phones from functioning correctly.

Please be advised of the following Service Alert update on the IP Voice Services platform:

Resolution

It has been communicated to IPVS that IP Exchange have confirmed that new firmware provided by their vendor has been applied across the estate to the affected components on the PSTN Media Gateways.

This has now fully resolved the issue overnight.

IP Exchange has been actively monitoring their platform and they have seen no occurrences of the issue.

On net calls within IPVS have been unaffected during this issue.

[Comtec Announce] [IP Voice Services] Planned Engineering Work 01/07/2012
Posted by Michael Cullen on 25 June 2012 10:40 AM

Please be advised of the following planned engineering works on the IP Voice Services platform:

Date: 22:00 to 23:00 on Sunday, 01/07/2012

Purpose

The IPVS Engineering Team will be adding additional paths between internal switches to improve bandwidth and resilience. Internal traffic flows will be moved to this new path.

Impact

Whilst we expect no service disruption as a result of this work, due to their nature there is a very low risk that some customers may experience a brief interruption of between 0-30 seconds as the services automatically re-route to the new connections.

We will be continually monitoring Voice and Network services throughout the period of works to ensure that no unforeseen issues are experienced.

Regards,

Comtec Network Operation Centre
