[Comtec Announce] 21CN Service Outage - 17/04/12 11.08

We have now received the following update from BT Openreach. Due to the severity of the damage to the fibre links by the third party and this issue being beyond all reasonable control by BT they now have an estimated fix time of 24 to 48 hours, however BT have said there will be a further update at 23:00 hours. We have now received confirmation from BT Openreach that over 250 fibres have been damaged by a third party. BT Openreach have cable jointers and engineers on site currently replacing the damaged fibre. There is currently no estimated time to fix, however we will remain in contact with BT throughout and update accordingly. We thank you for your patience during this outage. The enterprise cloud of the future – Often thought of as a bespoke cloud offering.
It seems likely that hybrid clouds will be an important element in making cloud computing more accessible and valuable for enterprises and that a hybrid cloud architecture will become increasingly important. Hybrid cloud computing is when both public and private cloud computing resources are used, companies commonly use this model where they already have an expensive computing system in place which they are loathed to replace, or want to keep highly sensitive customer orientated applications within a private cloud. The critical part of the hybrid model is having a robust, secure and high-performance network between the private and public cloud so that you can effectively move application and storage back and forth.
